It’s rainy here in the Pacific Northwest, and there’s nothing better than to do on a rainy day than to bake treats for my dogs.
Is easy to make banana pumpkin dog treats. I make these banana pumpkin dog treats with simple wholesome ingredients.
By using whole wheat flour, rolled oats, applesauce, pumpkin purée and of course a banana, your dogs will wag their tail waiting for these treats to come out of the oven.

How to Make Banana Pumpkin Dog Treats
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Cup Rolled Oats, blended
- 1 Egg
- ยผ cup Applesauce
- 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1 mashed Banana
Whole wheat flour - in baking dog treats, whole wheat flour is one of the most commonly used when baking dog treats.
Most dogs can tolerate easily wheat-based flowers for dog treats or dog biscuits.
You can also use whole wheat flour in combination with different flour to make these treats, just mix it up a little.
Pumpkin for dogs - always use 100% pumpkin with no fillers when making dog treats.
Not only is pumpkin great to use in dog treat recipes. Pumpkin is often used to help dogs with both constipation and diarrhea. You can also help dogs with indigestion or upset stomach’s.
Rolled Oats - we often use rolled oats in dog treat recipes. Do not use quick oats. You're fine recipes using rolled oats that have been ground down to a flower like consistency, or used whole.
Rolled Oats are a significant source of fiber that helps to regulate your dog’s which helps to regulate dietary issues. It’s also safe for dogs who have wheat allergies.
Applesauce - most dogs can eat applesauce with no issues. You’ll always want to look for apple sauce that is an organic brand and doesn’t contain any fillers or put extra added sugars into the applesauce.
You should never feed your dog applesauce that has been sweetened. Always look for unsweetened applesauce. The best place to buy applesauce is in the baby food section.
Applesauce contains dietary fiber and vitamin C, phosphorus and calcium, which is beneficial for dogs.
Eggs - eggs are a nutritious source of protein but not only contain essential amino acids and fatty acids, but they make excellent dog treats and dietary supplements for dogs.
Just like any human food, we usually make dog treat recipes with eggs.
Directions:
- These treats are so easy to whip up.
- Begin by putting your rolled oats into a blender or food processor, such as a Nutribullet, to turn your rolled oats into flour consistency.
- Mix the wet ingredients, the eggs, applesauce, pumpkin and banana in the medium-size bowl.
- Add your whole wheat flour and rolled oats. Mix well.
- Continue mixing until you have formed a ball of dough.
- Place your ball of dough onto a flat, floured surface.
- Roll your door out to approximately ยผ inch thick. Note: The trick with rolling the dough is to place a sheet of parchment paper between your door and rolling pin. It will help the donut stick to your rolling pin.
- Using your doggy cookie cutters, cut out your shapes in the Dell and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Place your cookies on a cooling rack to cool.
Store in an airtight container.

Banana Pumpkin Dog Treats
Healthy and delicious Homemade Banana Pumpkin Dog Treats.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Cup Rolled Oats, blended
- 1 Egg
- ยผ cup Applesauce
- 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1 mashed Banana
Instructions
Put oats into blender or Nutribullet to blend into a flour like consistency.
Mix egg, applesauce, banana and pumpkin in a medium size bowl. Slowly add flour and oats to your wet mixure. Mix well.
Forming your mixture into a dough ball.
Take a ball of dough and place it onto a floured surface.
Roll our the dough to approximately ยผ inch thick.
Using your favorite cookie cutters, cut the cookies and place onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Store in an airtight container.
