Dogs and yogurt have been paired in many creative ways, from homemade dog treats made with yogurt to yogurt based organic shampoos.
Yogurt is high in calcium and protein, and can act as a probiotic. This can be good for a dog's digestive system.
When choosing yogurt for dogs, you'll want to be sure it's plain and free of any added sweeteners, either natural or artificial. Some yogurt contains Xylitol, which is toxic to dogs and should be avoided.
I love using Greek yogurt for my frozen homemade dog treats. Greek-style yogurt has lots of live cultures, like plain Greek yogurt.

How to Make Yogurt, Banana and Peanut Butter Dog Treats
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces plain Greek yogurt
- 1 ¼ tablespoons dog safe peanut butter, creamy
- 1 medium over-ripe banana
Supplies Needed:
- Blender or Food Processor
- Cute Doggy Molds
- Mixing Spoon
- Cookie Sheet
- Ziplock bag or Air-tight container
Directions:
- Add yogurt, peanut butter, and plain banana to your blender. Whiz it all together. You want it to be runny, so if needed add a couple tablespoons of water.
- Place your cute doggy molds onto a cookie sheet. The cookie sheet helps to transfer the filled molds to the freezer.
- Fill your molds with your frozen treat mix.
- Place in the freezer for about 2 to 2 ½ hours.
- Pop them out of the mold and store in a Ziploc bag or an air-tight container.
