Cheddar, mozzarella and cottage cheese are totally fine for dogs. When it comes to cheese, moderation is key. Make sure your dog doesn't have a lactose intolerance before you give him cheese.
What kind of cheese is good for dog treats?
You're better off giving your dog low-fat cheeses, like mozzarella, cottage cheese, or goat cheese.
Compared to other cheeses, cottage cheese is lower in fat and sodium, so it helps you lose weight.
Also, cottage cheese is low in lactose, so it's less likely to upset your stomach.
How to Make Colby Jack Cheddar Cheese Dog Treats

Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 ¼ Cups Grated Colby Jack Cheese
- ½ Cup Vegetable Oil
- 4 tablespoon Water, As Needed
Supplies Needed:
- Mixing Bowl or KitchenAid Mixer
- Cute Doggie Cookie Cutters
- Rolling Pin
- Cookie Sheet
- Silpat or Parchment Paper
Directions:
Combine flour, cheese and oil.
Knead well and add water as needed to form stiff dough.
Roll out on floured surface to ½ inch thickness.
Cut with Dog bone shaped cookie cutter.
Bake at 400° Degrees Fahrenheit. For 15 minutes.
Cool completely on wire rack.
Feed to the waiting pup!

Colby Jack Cheddar Cheese Dog Treats

Ingredients

Notes
Once you've cut out the dough with the cookie cutters go ahead and roll out your dough again and keep cutting more cookies.
