Ingredient Notes for Mini Pumpkin Pie for Dogs
Oat Flour - Pie Crust - Oat Flour is great for dogs. Oat flour is an excellent choice for baking, because of its ability to keep moisture more than other types of flour, so it produces moister results when you use it in dog treats.
Eggs - Pie Crust - Eggs are used to bind all the ingredients together.
Honey - Pie Filling - Honey is safe for dogs in small quantities. It helps to add that sweetness to homemade dog pumpkin pie with whip cream topper.
Cinnamon - Pie Filling & Whip Cream - full of antioxidants, I used cinnamon as a flavor in the pie filling. Don't forget to put a small sprinkle on the whipped cream.
Pumpkin Puree - Pie Filling - Always use 100% Pure Pumpkin in any dog treat recipe.
Low Fat Greek Yogurt - Whip Cream Topping - I prefer using low fat Greek Yogurt as a topping for my dog treats. You can use the Greek Yogurt alone or add in a bit of cornstarch and milk to help make it stiffer.
Cornstarch - Whip Cream Topping - Helps to make the whipped cream topper a bit stiffer and hold it's shape.
Low fat or 2% milk - Whip Cream Topping - helps to mix the yogurt and cornstarch. You'll add this in a teaspoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

Instructions

Pumpkin Pie Crust:
In a large bowl, mix ¾ cups of oat flour and 1 large egg. If you don't have oat flour, you can use a food processor to grind quick oats into a flour like consistency.
Kneed the dough a few times and to form it into a ball.
Roll out your dough and use a cookie cutter or jar lid about the size of your mini pumpkin pie pan to create the crust. Press this into your mini pumpkin pie baking pan. Hint: I like to cut the bottom crusts with the cookie cutters and then use the remaining scraps to create the sides of the pumpkin pie by pressing it into the baking pan.
Bake the crust for 8 mins at 350° degrees Fahrenheit.
Pumpkin Pie Filling:
While your crust is baking, let's make the pumpkin pie filling.
In a large bowl, combine one 15oz can of pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 large egg, and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon.
Use an electric hand mixer to mix well.
Once mixture is smooth, pour the pumpkin pie filing into each of your baking pans with crust.
Bake for 30 mins at 350° degrees Fahrenheit.
Pumpkin Pie Whipped Cream Topping:
Hint: You can use the Greek Yogurt by itself a safe whipped cream for your pumpkin pies. If you prefer a thicker whipped cream do the following:
Mix ยฝ cup Greek Yogurt, slowly add cornstarch and low-fat milk a teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon on the top.
Let pumpkin pies cool before serving or adding whipped cream topping to your pumpkin pie.

Can this be frozen successfully?
I'd love to make it for my doggo for Thanksgiving, but my oven is at full capacity! Hoping I can make it in advance.
Ruby Doodle Dog says
Hi,
Yes, you can definitely freeze it....I would do the freeze it without the topping and make that on the day you'd like to use them.
