Why Homemade Strawberry Banana Dog Treats Recipe
While there are plenty of store-bought dog treats available, making your own treats has several advantages. you have complete control over the ingredients, ensuring that your dog is getting the best possible nutrition without any unwanted additives.
Plus, it's a fun and rewarding activity that allows you to bond with your dog.
Ingredients
- Ripe Banana
- Ripe Strawberries
- Egg
- Plain Greek Yogurt (Unsweetened and Unflavored)
- Oat Flour ( you can blend oats to make your own)
- Coconut flour
- Rolled oats
- Optional: A tablespoon of honey for added sweetness ( make sure it's dog safe)

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Fruits
Start by washing the strawberries and removing the stems. Dice them into small pieces. Peel the ripe banana and mash it using a fork until smooth.
These fruits will not only add flavor but also valuable nutrients to the treats.
Cut the stems off the strawberries and dice or blend them in a blender.
Form into ball shape with your hands
Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thickness.
Using your favorite dog cookie cutters cut out your dog treat shapes.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, diced strawberries, egg and plain Greek yogurt. If you're using honey, add it at this stage. Mix the ingredients throughly until you have a well-blended wet mixture.
Step 3: Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Gradually add oat flour, coconut flour, and rolled oats to the wet mixture. Mix everything together until a dough ball forms. Hint: You can adjust the consistency by adding a little more oat flour if the dough is too sticky or a touch of water if it's too dry.
Step 4: Shape the Treats
Preheat your over to 350° degrees Fahrenheit ( 175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls. You can also use cookie cutters to create fun shapes.
Step 5: Bake
Place the shaped treats on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are golden brown and firm tot he touch. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking.
Step 6: Cool and Store
Once baked, remove the treats from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Store the cooled treats in an airtight container. These treats can be stored at room temperature for a few days, but if you want them to last longer, consider refrigerating or freezing them.

Storage
I like to use the OXY Dog Storage containers for my dog treats. They are quick and easy to store and get into when I want to give my pups a treat.
Dog Treats can last a few days in dry storage containers. If you want your treats to last longer, try freezing your dog treats.
It's always best to store homemade dog treats in an airtight container like the OXY Dog Storage Containers and store in the refrigerator.
- In a refrigerator they will stay good for up to two months.
- In a freezer, they will stay good for up to eight months.

Homemade Strawberry Banana Dog Treats
Homemade strawberry and banana dog treats with wholesome ingredients.
Ingredients

- 5-6 Ripe Strawberries
- 1 Egg
- ¼ Cup plain Greek Yogurt (unsweetened and unflavored)
- 1 Cup Oat Flour (you can blend oats to make your own)
- ¼ Cup Coconut Flour
- ¼ Cup Rolled Oats
- Optional: A tablespoon of honey for added sweetness (make sure it's dog safe)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the stems from the strawberries.
- Wash the strawberries and dice them.
- Peel the ripe banana and mash it.

- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool and give a treat to your dog.
- Store.
